May 30th (Day 14): Rome

After breakfast, in the morning tour some of the city's past splendor and pass by legendary monuments, palaces, ruins, squares and fountains. You will also visit the Catacombs of Santa Domitilla where the early Christians held their forbidden services and buried their dead. Drive to visit The Basilica of St. Paul. Outside the Walls which was founded by the Roman Emperor Constantine I over what was believed to be the burial place of St. Paul, where it was said that, after the Apostle's execution, his grave. This first edifice a memorial, called a cella memoriae, over his grave. This first edifice was expanded under Valentinian I. Continue to visit the Church of St. Paul of the Three Fountains, located just outside Rome. It is said to be built on the spot where St. Paul was beheaded by order of Nero. There are two other churches also located on the grounds.
