Oh the Heart...

So we have started a small group at our home oh late fall last year and have been going strong since. We decided that we would do a "womens" study and then do a "man" study. Well we did the Staci Eldredge study Captivating. It was good. It was good to get a little deeper into the heart of my wife.

No its our turn, does that sound bad? Oh well...

We start tonight Wild At Heart by John Eldredge. I have read this book (yes, I read) a few years back and I tell ya it really added some thought provoking moments in my growth. I am at a huge crossroads in my life right now and I think God has put this study in my life for a purpose, I am ready to listen.

I went to a funeral today of a 36 year old man that grew up in this area and evidently made a huge impact on lots of people. One of the things that I found interesting during this time (remember this was a funeral) was the love that filled this room from stories of a childlike man - a guy that likes to have fun. I learned something from this man today - be a child of God for my wife and children. Show them that its okay to enjoy life. Even when its not going the way you think it should.

So I am in search of my child likeness that I once carried with me daily. In life I had people laughing with dumb comments or just entering the room. So during this study I hope God reveals me again.

Anyone wanna journey with me?
